About the position

The Accounts Receivable Representative position at Providence is a vital role responsible for the timely and accurate billing and collections of payments from insurance carriers, agencies, and other entities for services and equipment provided by Providence Senior and Community Services and Home and Community Services. This includes various service lines such as Home Infusion, Specialty Pharmacy, Oral Dose, Skilled Nursing Facility, Home Health, Hospice, and Home Medical Equipment. The representative will work within a team that emphasizes patient-focused, whole-person care, ensuring that the billing processes align with the organization's commitment to understanding, respect, and mutual support among caregivers. The role is designed to empower employees, recognizing that their contributions are invaluable to the organization and the communities they serve. In this position, the representative will engage with various stakeholders to ensure that all billing inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately. They will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and communication, as they will often be the point of contact for clients and insurance providers. The role requires a strong understanding of healthcare billing processes, insurance contracts, and regulations, particularly those related to Medicare and Medicaid. The representative will also be responsible for tracking payments, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. This position is remote, allowing for flexibility while still being part of a larger team dedicated to providing exceptional service to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate billing and collections of payments from insurance carriers and agencies.
  • Engage with clients and insurance providers to address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare and Medicaid regulations and insurance contracts.
  • Track payments and ensure all billing processes are followed accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members to support patient-focused care and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Two years recent experience in a healthcare environment with an emphasis on reimbursement and collections.
  • Experience with insurance contracts and/or Medicare/Medicaid Regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Coursework/Training: College level courses in medical front office/medical billing.
  • Epic experience.
