We have an exciting position available on our Revenue Cycle Team for a Revenue Cycle Specialist. Successful candidates must maintain a professional image in the office and in all communications. The role requires the ability to multitask while maintaining good patient and staff relations along with providing outstanding customer service. As a member of this team, you will work in the Athena-IDX (patient management and billing) system daily to decrease A/R days, resolve denied insurance claims, post payments, and follow through on outstanding claims until payment in full is received from the insurance. You will also be responsible for requesting, preparing, and sending claims to insurance companies, adjusting account charges due to insurance contract requirements, payment reversals/transfers, misapplied charges, or insurance refunds. It is essential to document all activity accurately and immediately in the computer, identify trends and root causes for issues, and present ideas for process improvement. You will work independently as well as on a team, contributing actively to the setting and achievement of personal, team, and department goals and benchmarks. Attendance at department staff meetings, insurance company provider relations meetings, team meetings, and any other assigned meetings is required. Additionally, you must abide strictly by HIPAA law by maintaining confidentiality and only accessing information as needed for job functions. You will also assist in the orientation and training of new employees and perform other duties as assigned.
