About the position

Life Care Centers of America is seeking an energetic and driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their experienced team. This position primarily focuses on private collections for multiple skilled nursing facilities, ensuring that all functions are performed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The role is based out of the division office in Phoenix, AZ, and is essential for maintaining the financial health of the organization by managing accounts receivable effectively. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for preparing and submitting all billing, including Medicare A and B, as well as private insurance, accurately and in a timely manner. This includes recording cash receipts and preparing bank deposits. The specialist will also be expected to exhibit excellent customer service and maintain professional working relationships with all associates and vendors. Confidentiality of proprietary information is paramount, and adherence to company policies, including compliance and harassment procedures, is required. In addition to billing and collections, the role requires the ability to make independent decisions when necessary and to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the administration department. The specialist will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, demonstrating dependable attendance and effective communication skills. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs and to perform various physical activities throughout the working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit all billing (i.e., Medicare A B, private insurance) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record cash receipts accurately and timely.
  • Accurately prepare bank deposits.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients.
  • Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
  • Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
  • Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Prior bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Prior billing in a health-care setting preferred.
  • Data entry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Point Click Care or other skilled nursing-based accounting systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail.
  • Knowledgeable of administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing administration functions in the post-acute care facility.
