About the position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist at Ensemble Health Partners is responsible for managing and resolving claim payment issues with various payers, ensuring timely reimbursement for healthcare services. This role involves analyzing denials, payment variances, and no response claims, as well as drafting and submitting appeals. The specialist will maintain compliance with federal and state regulations while documenting all activities accurately in the appropriate systems. The position emphasizes problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication with payers to secure payments and improve the revenue cycle process.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with commercial, governmental, and other payers to resolve claim payment issues.
• Identify and analyze denials, payment variances, and no response claims.
• Draft and submit technical and clinical appeals for denied claims.
• Communicate directly with payers to follow up on outstanding claims and resolve payment variances.
• Examine denied and non-paid claims to determine reasons for discrepancies.
• Document all activity accurately in the client's host system and/or appropriate tracking system.
• Make recommendations and communicate trends and issues to management.
• Meet productivity and quality standards as established by Ensemble.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• CRCR certification required upon hire or within 9 months of hire.
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing procedures and a growing environment.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 or 4-year college degree.
• 1 or more years of relevant experience in medical collections, AR follow-up, denials & appeals, or professional billing.
• Knowledge of claims review and analysis.
• Working knowledge of revenue cycle and medical terminology.
• Experience with the DDE Medicare system and payer websites.
