About the position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist and Payroll Specialist at Community Systems Inc. is responsible for managing daily accounts receivable operations and processing payroll. This role involves verifying, coding, and processing receivables, handling Medicaid billings, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The position also requires collaboration with various departments and supports the Finance and Admin Director in special projects. The role is hybrid, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies, codes, and processes all receivables on a daily basis through the computer system.
  • Records all monthly Medicaid billings, client service fees, and contract revenues.
  • Runs open item report and follows up on collections for all billings.
  • Runs month-end reports and closes AR module.
  • Reconciles open AR to GL balance at month and year-end.
  • Deposits all receipts on a weekly basis.
  • Files all AR documents for cash receipts and billings.
  • Assists the Finance and Admin Director in any special projects as needed.
  • Processes payroll every two weeks.
  • Monitors the due dates of each re-determination.
  • Performs other duties as may from time to time be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounts Receivable Billing and Payroll.
  • Previous experience on computer-based accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and efficiently adapt to changing priorities.
  • Solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with employees in all departments.
  • Self-starter and motivated.
