Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) is seeking an energetic and talented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our growing Trade AR team. This position is crucial for maintaining our financial health by ensuring timely collections and effective communication with clients and internal teams. In this role, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for communicating with previous clients and customers to request and collect payments, as well as arranging payment plans. The primary function of this position is to liquidate working capital by contacting customers to determine their needs for executing payments or securing payments for RNDC. The specialist will also be tasked with requesting appropriate remittance details and forwarding them to the cash team to ensure accurate cash application. Additionally, the role may involve performing some cash application duties, such as processing credit card payments for open invoices. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will need to explain to internal customers, such as salespersons, why orders cannot ship or why RNDC is unable to reach customers. They will also need to communicate plans to clear past due items on customer accounts and facilitate the shipping of new products when warranted. This position requires collaboration with other internal team members and customers to obtain necessary information and share results with appropriate stakeholders. The specialist must be adept at navigating customer roadblocks and bringing in the appropriate level of assistance when needed, ensuring that all communications are accurate, complete, and succinct.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with previous clients and customers to request and collect payments.
  • Arrange payment plans for customers.
  • Contact customers to determine their needs for executing payments.
  • Request appropriate remittance details and forward them to the cash team for accurate cash application.
  • Perform cash application duties, including processing credit card payments for open invoices.
  • Explain to internal customers why orders cannot ship or why RNDC cannot reach customers.
  • Communicate plans to clear past due items on customer accounts and facilitate shipping of new products when warranted.
  • Provide next steps and brief answers to inquiries from drivers, customers, and sales teams.
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members and customers to obtain required information and share results.
  • Navigate customer roadblocks and escalate issues as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2-6 years of experience in collections, with 2-4 years in B2B, preferably in the Mass merchandiser/national chain space.
  • Associates degree or higher preferred.
  • 2+ years of job-related experience preferred.
  • NACM Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and accounting software (Oracle AR).
  • Familiarity with internet software, browsers, and search engines.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft products.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience in the Wine and Spirits industry.
  • WSET certifications.
