About the position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing accounting tasks related to all Goodwill Industries business units, including daily cash management, accounts receivable, and reconciliation transactions. This role involves preparing bank reconciliations, maintaining daily cash receipts, tracking retail store deposits, and monitoring aged receivables. The specialist will also engage with management regarding any accounts receivable issues and communicate with clients about billing discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bank reconciliation for the agency's primary operations accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile daily cash receipts for all business units.
  • Maintain retail transaction excel spreadsheets.
  • Track daily retail store deposits.
  • Track vouchers and gift cards issued.
  • Prepare invoices.
  • Monitor aged receivables and initiate collection.
  • Engage management in any A/R problems.
  • Communicate with clients regarding billing discrepancies and questions.
  • Monitor state contracts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in finance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general office practices.
  • Criminal background check that meets agency standards.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • Ability to work in an open office environment.
  • Works well on and with a team.

Nice-to-haves
