About the position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist III is responsible for managing customer communications to collect payments and arrange payment plans. This role involves building relationships with clients to facilitate payment processes and collaborating with internal teams to provide updates on payment statuses and order issues. The position requires effective communication and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient liquidation of working capital.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to collect payments and liquidate working capital efficiently.
• Develop relationships with customers to understand their needs for executing payments.
• Request appropriate remittance details from customers and forward them to the cash team for accurate cash application.
• Provide answers to customers and internal stakeholders regarding order statuses, payments, pricing, and credit.
• Perform cash application duties as needed, including processing credit card payments for open invoices.
• Explain order shipment issues and payment reasons to internal customers and provide next steps for resolution.
• Collaborate with internal team members and customers to gather required information and share results.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of experience in B2B collections, preferably in the mass merchandiser/national chain space.
• Associates degree or higher preferred with at least 1 year of job-related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to present information effectively.
• Mathematical skills to calculate discounts, interest, and other financial figures.
• Proficient in accounting software, particularly Oracle AR, and Microsoft products.
