As an Accounts Receivable Specialist at Urology of Indiana, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate management of patient accounts. Your primary responsibility will be to update and maintain current payer plan information in the patient's chart using various electronic tools. This includes making outgoing calls to both patients and payers to confirm and update insurance details. You will be expected to run daily eligibility queue reports and monthly aging reports to identify and rectify any discrepancies in insurance information. If claims have been filed with incorrect payer plans, you will be responsible for correcting these errors and resubmitting claims as necessary. In addition to managing payer information, you will also handle inbound calls from patients and locations regarding general insurance inquiries. You will provide estimates for patient procedures and assist with charge entry and payment posting as needed. Your role will also involve administrative tasks such as mail distribution, faxing, copying, scanning, and managing electronic documents. You will be expected to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong organizational skills while ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. To succeed in this position, you must possess a solid understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interpret benefits and eligibility information from various commercial payers, Medicaid, and Medicare. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. You will be working in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment and software to perform your duties. This is a full-time position, with the expectation of working Monday through Friday, approximately 8 hours per day, with occasional evening and weekend work as required.
