About the position

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, collections, and customer service. This role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables' data
• Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities
• Investigate and resolve customer queries
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, or in-person to facilitate payment resolution
• Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable activity

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or in a similar role
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Familiarity with collections and terminology is preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts professionally
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on maintaining positive relationships
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
