About the position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist/Collections role at AppleOne involves managing the accounts receivable process for a large company in Calabasas. The position focuses on recording payments, applying invoices, and ensuring timely collections while maintaining accurate customer account reconciliations. The specialist will also analyze data related to invoices and payments to identify discrepancies and ensure proper accounting practices are followed.

Responsibilities

• Record cash based on customer remittances or pulling information from the portal daily.
• Review A/R aging reports for the end of the month and communicate with customers on follow-ups.
• Reconcile customer accounts monthly, including invoices, returns, payments, and deductions.
• Review claim accounts prior to month-end and reverse amounts to proper accounts as needed.
• Ensure month-end aging is reconciled with Subledger and fix discrepancies as necessary.
• Process high volume invoices from customers through the EDI system.
• Analyze data of invoices and payments to determine what was paid, what needs to be paid, and what was deducted from the payment.

Requirements

• Experience in accounts receivable and collections processes.
• Proficiency in EDI systems for processing invoices.
• Strong analytical skills to assess data related to invoices and payments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding collections.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with high volume invoicing.
• Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting.
