About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collections. This role is crucial in supporting the overall financial health of the organization and requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Create monthly job billings for ongoing construction projects.
• Process and record incoming payments accurately in the accounting system.
• Perform account reconciliation to ensure that all transactions are accounted for.
• Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
• Communicate with clients regarding payment status and resolve any discrepancies.
• Utilize Viewpoint Spectrum for data entry and tracking of accounts receivable activities.
• Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when interacting with clients and vendors.
• Support the finance team with additional tasks as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role is preferred.
• Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in utilizing accounting software is highly desirable.
• Basic math skills to accurately handle debits and credits.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients.
