About the position

The Member Service Specialist is a vital role within Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM), responsible for assisting members with their immediate needs and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. This position encompasses a variety of tasks, including processing invoices, collecting payments from customers and members, and filling out and reviewing work orders for completeness and accuracy. The Member Service Specialist will engage with customers both over the phone and in-person, addressing their inquiries and providing information about marina products and services. Additionally, the role involves reviewing reports to take action towards achieving business goals, thereby contributing to the overall success of the marina operations. In this position, developing and maintaining effective and friendly working relationships with staff, members, and guests is essential. The Member Service Specialist must handle conflicts effectively, courteously, and tactfully, ensuring that all interactions reflect the company’s commitment to excellent customer service. Daily responsibilities include accepting and reconciling cash, credit, and check payments, as well as following up on past due balances. Routine administrative tasks, such as office leasing, are also part of the job, along with the flexibility to work overtime when required. The role may involve other duties as assigned by the Manager, emphasizing the need for adaptability and a proactive approach to service delivery. Safety and environmental responsibilities are also critical in this role. The Member Service Specialist must adhere to SHM's safety and environmental rules, complete required training, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and report any accidents, injuries, spills, or near misses immediately. This commitment to safety ensures a secure working environment for all team members and guests.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting members with their immediate needs and inquiries.
  • Processing invoices and collecting payments from customers and members.

  • Providing excellent customer service both on the phone and in-person.

  • Being available to work overtime when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior marina experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds.
