About the position

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and record all incoming payments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits.
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients, following up on outstanding accounts.
  • Conduct medical collections and manage governmental accounting processes as needed.
  • Utilize technical accounting skills to ensure compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Perform double-entry bookkeeping tasks to maintain accurate financial data.
  • Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and record management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in ICD-10 coding is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in accounts receivable functions.
  • Excellent understanding of debits and credits in financial transactions.
  • Experience with medical collections is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
