About the position

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor/Manager role at Robert Half involves overseeing the accounts receivable functions for all brands within the manufacturing industry. This hybrid position requires onsite work for two days a week and focuses on managing collections, cash applications, and ensuring adherence to accounts receivable policies. The role also includes training and mentoring team members, resolving accounts receivable issues, and implementing continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounts receivable department, including collections, cash applications, and deductions.
  • Ensure accuracy in invoicing, cash application, and posting and applying returns credits and refunds.
  • Handle the management of deductions, verifying the validity of customer deductions, and oversee the aging of deductions.
  • Develop and implement consistent accounts receivable policies across the enterprise and ensure adherence to these policies.
  • Handle the resolution of all accounts receivable issues on a day-to-day basis.
  • Oversee large customer collections to ensure timely handling of past dues.
  • Train and mentor the team to determine root causes and resolve issues.
  • Manage the development and implementation of KPI's and SMART goals for the team.
  • Handle allowance and bad debt calculations.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement processes once established.
  • Manage customer account management and maintenance.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of 3M and other relevant accounting software systems
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting functions, including accounts receivable and auditing
  • Competency in managing billing functions
  • Ability to generate and analyze aging reports and manage aging accounts
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the manufacturing industry
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials would be advantageous.
