About the position

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable department, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and reporting. This role is responsible for managing a team of AR professionals, improving cash flow, and supporting the company's financial health. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AR processes, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of accounts receivable and billing admins to ensure efficient processing of accounts receivable functions.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of invoices to customers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage collections activities for outstanding accounts, ensuring timely follow-up and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supervise the accurate posting of customer payments and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and take actions to reduce aging balances and improve cash flow.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of AR sub-ledger to the general ledger and assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline AR processes and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare and communicate financial data for cash forecasting, chargeback analysis, and other reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in AR processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and maintain accurate customer accounts.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in accounts receivable or finance, with a minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
