About the position

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor at Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable functions within the Administrative Services Division. This role involves applying accounting principles in accordance with GAAP and governmental standards, analyzing transactions, managing cash flow, and supervising cashiers. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting practices and the ability to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with state and federal guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Correctly applies accounting principles according to GAAP and applicable guidelines.
• Analyzes accounts receivable transactions on reports and accounting systems.
• Requests and deposits state, federal, and other funds to maintain cash balances.
• Processes check inquiries and stops payments.
• Reviews documentation, entries, and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Reviews complex accounts receivable billing documentation to prepare accurate statements.
• Processes electronic fund transfers (ACH) to technical colleges and vendors.
• Posts payroll deposits monthly and reconciles them with payroll.
• Maintains accurate records on student scholarships and balances the general ledger.
• Prepares annual petty cash and issues reimbursements.
• Supervises cashiers, including training and managing transaction coverage.
• Advises supervisor of any balancing problems with deposit slips.
• Prepares standard financial and accounting reports as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates degree in accounting or closely related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in accounting.

Nice-to-haves

• Two (2) years of governmental accounting experience.
• Two (2) years of leadership/supervisorial experience.
• Efficient in Banner database and State of GA Peoplesoft Financials.
• Experience with Workday.
