About the position

The Accounts Receivable position at Monarch Container Line is a full-time role that requires a bilingual individual fluent in both Mandarin and English. This position is essential for managing the financial transactions related to accounts receivable, ensuring that all payments are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a freight forwarding or NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) environment, which is crucial for understanding the specific financial processes involved in this industry. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen attention to detail, as the candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. In this position, the employee will work from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and will be expected to handle various tasks related to accounts receivable and accounts payable. The candidate will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, as they will be interacting with clients and colleagues in both English and Mandarin. Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable transactions and ensure timely processing of payments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients in both Mandarin and English regarding payment inquiries and issues.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for all accounts receivable activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable or related field, preferably in a freight forwarding or NVOCC environment.
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, with the ability to read, write, and speak both languages proficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
