About the position

The Acme Gridley Screw Machine Setup Operator at Perigee Manufacturing Company, Inc. is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-spindle automatic screw machines. This role requires a strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and the ability to train and oversee other operators. The position offers opportunities for advancement and is essential for ensuring efficient production processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain multi-spindle automatic screw machines (Acme Gridley).
• Change and set cams & gears, grind & set form tools, shave tools, drills, and cutoffs.
• Complete machine changeovers and setups from layout in a timely fashion.
• Use measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers effectively.
• Train and oversee screw machine operators.
• Follow specific work, process, safety instructions, and procedures.
• Complete control charts and process paperwork correctly and efficiently.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years setup experience on Acme Gridley automatic screw machines (REQUIRED).
• Minimum of five (5) years operator experience on Acme Gridley, Davenport, New Britain, Wickman, Cone, Warner Swazey, Brown & Sharpe, Index, Traub, or other automatic screw machines (REQUIRED).
• Strong ability to use measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
• Must be quality conscious and have a strong work ethic.
• Good communication skills and team mentality.
• Physically able to perform duties of the job; able to lift 50 lbs.
