About the position

The Acquisition Lead for the DEA Program at V2X is responsible for overseeing procurement activities, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and government regulations, and managing a team of acquisition personnel. This role requires independent judgment and the ability to supervise effectively while performing various administrative functions. The Acquisition Lead will also engage in training, contract negotiation, and bid analysis to support the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns and coordinates specific personnel activities and improves performance.
  • Schedules vacation and time off for the department.
  • Reviews performance of subordinates and participates in decisions concerning processes and discipline.
  • Ensures departmental adherence to Corporate Policies, Controlled Procedures, Government Contract, and Government Regulations.
  • Conducts training of acquisition personnel.
  • Provides documentation to support all purchases following Procurement Policies and Procedures and the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Reviews purchase orders and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Develops Requests for Quotes (RFQs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for solicitation of bids for aircraft material, support equipment, and services.
  • Analyzes bids and performs cost/price analysis to ensure best value.
  • Writes, negotiates, and administers Basic Ordering Agreements and Blanket Purchase Orders.
  • Consults catalogs and websites to obtain and compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates, and awards contracts to suppliers.
  • Processes Purchase Orders through an Automated Procurement System.
  • Obtains quotes and determines the availability of needed items and suggests substitutes when necessary.
  • Interfaces with technicians and customers to answer inquiries and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in the Acquisition (procurement) career field.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience managing three (3) or more employees.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience in subcontracting and planning for service and material acquisitions.
  • AA/AS Degree or equivalent military or corporate background experience.
  • Desirable college or seminar courses in Procurement and/or Contracting.
  • Experience in General Aviation per FAA rules is desirable.
  • Strong analytical abilities for sound, independent judgments.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain a high-performance level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to respond and/or report to duty within one (1) hour.

Nice-to-haves

  • College or seminar courses in Procurement and/or Contracting are desirable.
  • Experience in General Aviation per FAA rules is desirable.
