About the position

The Acquisition Manager, Junior at Diaconia is responsible for supporting various acquisition processes and events within the Department of Defense (DoD). This role involves analyzing and evaluating information to improve acquisition effectiveness, assisting in the development of acquisition documentation, and performing efficiency reviews. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teams to ensure compliance and effectiveness in acquisition strategies, while also utilizing automated management systems for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support key acquisition events and reviews such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR) and Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR).
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining databases and analyzing key program metrics.
  • Track technical metrics and report status.
  • Apply understanding of DoD and AF program/project analysis to assist with planning and presenting assessments.
  • Support the development and approval processes for requirements documents and the JCIDS process.
  • Assist in translating user requirements documents into Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation.
  • Support USG implementation of policies for capability planning and development.
  • Promote the use of Modeling Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) throughout the acquisition lifecycle process.
  • Assist in integration of intelligence information for cross-enterprise capabilities planning.
  • Provide support for program cost, schedule, and performance management.
  • Develop and collect technical data for milestone approval documentation.
  • Assist with developing, analyzing, and maintaining schedules and metrics for program status tracking.
  • Interface and coordinate with USG organizations to resolve programmatic issues.
  • Assist with planning and participating in integrated program reviews and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) with four years of experience in the technical discipline and three years of DoD experience, or eight years of directly related experience with three years of DoD experience and proper certifications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills to maintain working relationships.
  • Advanced knowledge and recognized ability in the technical/professional field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with automated management information systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes and policies.
