About the position

The Acquisition Manager will play a crucial role in a Detroit-based real estate investment firm focused on revitalizing neighborhoods by transforming overlooked properties into quality, affordable housing. This position involves managing the acquisitions system, identifying and underwriting single-family homes that align with the company's investment strategy, and overseeing the acquisitions team. The role reports directly to the CEO and is essential for meeting the firm's investment objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Source potential single-family home acquisition opportunities through listed and off-market channels.
  • Select homes for survey teams to tour.
  • Review homes that qualify for acquisition.
  • Prepare offers for homes that meet investment criteria for review.
  • Conduct market research and adjust the investment strategy with the CEO.
  • Oversee the due diligence process and coordinate the property inspections.
  • Analyze potential acquisitions based on projected return on investment.
  • Prepare and submit real estate purchase agreements.
  • Negotiate transactions, securing favorable terms for the company.
  • Oversee the closing specialist, ensuring that we efficiently close properties with free & clear title.

Requirements

  • Prior experience with a real estate investment firm or acquiring residential real estate is highly valued.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of real estate investment principles, including financial modeling and market analysis.
  • Knowledge of local real estate markets and property regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and time management.
