About the position

HX5 is currently seeking an Acquisition Manager to support the Mobility and Training Aircraft Program Office at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. The Acquisition Manager will play a crucial role in understanding and navigating the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition processes. This position requires analytical skills to gather, analyze, and evaluate information necessary for the U.S. Government (USG). The successful candidate will assist in drawing conclusions and devising solutions to enhance acquisition effectiveness and ensure compliance with established standards. In this role, the Acquisition Manager will be responsible for developing and drafting acquisition documentation while also ensuring quality control throughout the process. The position involves performing work measurement studies, conducting program or operations efficiency reviews, and analyzing cost studies or workload change impacts. The Acquisition Manager will utilize automated management information systems to support fact-finding, analytical, and advisory functions. Additionally, the Acquisition Manager will support key acquisition events and reviews, including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Technical Coordination Meetings (TCM), Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR). A solid understanding of contracting policies and processes is essential for analyzing requirements and assisting in the development of solutions for both pre-award and post-award situations.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of DoD acquisition processes and analytical methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate information required by the USG.
  • Assist in drawing conclusions and devising solutions to problems relating to improvement of acquisition effectiveness and compliance.
  • Assist with developing and drafting acquisition documentation and ensuring quality control.
  • Perform work measurement studies, program or operations efficiency reviews, cost studies, or workload change impact analyses.
  • Utilize automated management information systems in performing fact finding, analytical, and advisory functions.
  • Support key acquisition events and reviews such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Technical Coordination Meetings (TCM), Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).

Requirements

  • Master's Degree and twelve (12) years of related experience, of which five (5) must be with DoD.
  • Bachelor's Degree and fifteen (15) years of related experience, of which five (5) must be with DoD.
  • High School degree and twenty (20) years of related experience, of which eight (8) must be with DoD.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is required.
  • Ability to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
