About the position

Aegis Aerospace is currently seeking a full-time Acquisition Program Integration Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts. This position requires candidates to possess an active secret level or above clearance. The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management as defined in DoDI 5000.02. Additionally, the candidate should have a solid understanding of the roles and relationships within the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Air Force. The role involves utilizing qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs. The candidate will support program managers in assessing program schedules and cost baselines, recommending viable solutions to problems, and pursuing alternative courses of action. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential, as the individual will be responsible for providing quality acquisition and program documentation, including briefings, documents, and plans. The Acquisition Program Integration SME will plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of the development, production, and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment. The individual will formulate plans and recommend effective strategies to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Responsibilities also include supporting and developing acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports such as DAES and MAR, and supporting program management reviews and senior-level meetings. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge and recognized expertise in their technical/professional field, with the ability to oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel. They will establish and implement division processes to ensure efficient review, coordination, and approval of all division tasks, briefings, acquisition documentation, and reporting. The SME will interpret complex requests from higher-level organizations and construct appropriate responses for senior leader review, consolidating data inputs from multiple programs and functional disciplines into coherent products to support decision-making processes. The position may also require the individual to delegate and manage multiple individuals to accomplish the outlined responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • US citizenship
  • Advanced Degree (MA/MS) or BA/BS with relevant experience
  • 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, with 10 years in the DoD
  • Experience with acquisition reporting, including DAES, MAR, SAR, and GAO audits
  • Extensive experience interacting with PEO Staff, Air Force, and/or DoD Headquarters Staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in more than one acquisition discipline, especially program management and financial management.
  • Previous position on Air Force Headquarters Staff, preferably at SAF/AQ and/or PEO Staff.
