About the position

The Senior Acquisition Program Management Professional at Axient plays a crucial role in supporting the United States Air Force (USAF) Weapons program at Robins AFB in Georgia. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management. The professional will be responsible for applying their extensive knowledge to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of acquisition programs, ensuring that they meet the necessary cost, schedule, and performance objectives. In this role, the individual will gather, analyze, and measure the productivity of various acquisition programs, providing insights that will assist program managers in making informed decisions. They will assess the status of programs against established baselines and recommend viable solutions to any identified issues. Effective communication, both orally and in writing, is essential, as the professional will be tasked with producing high-quality acquisition and program documentation, including briefings, reports, and plans. The position also involves planning, researching, and analyzing system acquisition processes related to the development, production, and deployment of weapons systems and associated equipment. The professional will formulate strategic plans and recommend effective strategies to meet the objectives set forth by the Department of Defense (DoD). Additionally, they will support the development of acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory documents, and assist in preparing various briefings and schedules for senior management. Furthermore, the role requires supporting program management reviews and senior-level meetings, as well as implementing Agile software development processes in collaboration with government entities and weapon system prime contractors. The professional will be responsible for developing program management documentation that supports all phases of the acquisition life cycle and creating briefings to facilitate acquisition decision milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs.
  • Assess programs against schedule and cost baselines and recommend viable solutions to problems.
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to provide quality acquisition and program documentation.
  • Plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, and deployment of weapons systems.
  • Support and develop acquisition reports, including statutory and regulatory reports such as DAES and MAR.
  • Support program management reviews and senior-level meetings/reviews.
  • Implement and execute Agile software development processes in collaboration with government and weapon system prime contractors.
  • Develop program management documentation to support all phases of the acquisition life cycle.
  • Create briefings to support acquisition decision milestones.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree plus 25 years of experience, or a Master's degree plus 15 years of experience.
