The Acquisition Program Manager will be a key member of the Operational Support Team within the Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division at the United States Air Force School of Aerospace. This position is located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, and requires U.S. citizenship along with a Position of Trust (Tier 1) background investigation. The role is full-time and contract-based, with an expected salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year. The work schedule is typically from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, but flexibility is required as there may be instances where work is needed after hours or on weekends to support specific tasks. The period of performance for this position is from September 30, 2024, to September 29, 2026. The Acquisition Program Manager will assist in planning, initiating, executing, and reporting on various projects and analyses conducted within the 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) and other Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) research platforms. This includes providing administrative, technical, and logistical support for day-to-day project operations. The manager will monitor program and project accomplishments through the various phases of the acquisition cycle, create administrative and monitoring support tools, and maintain oversight of medical projects. Responsibilities also include monitoring adherence to established management controls, tracking contractor costs, schedules, and performance, and ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of three years of program management experience in a military research environment. They should be familiar with the preparation of documentation required for research contracts and cooperative agreements, and have experience with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with strong organizational and communication skills. The role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail. Previous experience in the Defense Health Program (DHP) medical research environment is highly desired.
