About the position

Apogee Engineering, LLC is actively seeking an Acquisition Program Manager to join our team at Hanscom AFB, MA. In this role, you will support the Acquisition Program Manager (APM) in assessing program schedules and cost baselines, ensuring that all projects are on track and within budget. You will be responsible for staffing Defense Acquisition Executive Summaries (DAES) and Monthly Activity Reports (MAR), as well as supporting program management and Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule (IMP/IMS) reviews. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the allocation of resources based on program requirements, managing meetings, calendars, agendas, and briefings, and providing program status updates to senior management. As an Acquisition Program Manager, you will determine requirements and develop goals and objectives to accomplish program missions. You will gather, analyze, and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition, sustainment, or modification programs, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative techniques. A strong understanding of various funding types, budgets, and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process is essential for this position. Additionally, you will monitor, mentor, and develop lower-level Acquisition Support Specialists and other contractor support personnel in accordance with Government PMO leadership lines of effort, policy, and standard operating procedures. Responsibilities

  • Support the Acquisition Program Manager (APM) in assessing program schedules and cost baselines.
  • Staff Defense Acquisition Executive Summaries (DAES) and Monthly Activity Reports (MAR).
  • Oversee the allocation of resources based on program requirements.
  • Manage meetings, calendars, agendas, and briefings, including providing program status updates to senior management.
  • Determine requirements and develop goals and objectives to accomplish program missions.
  • Gather, analyze, and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition, sustainment, or modification programs.
  • Understand various funding types, budgets, and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • 3 years of experience with DoD acquisition programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and AFI 63-101/20-101.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, deployment, and sustainment of weapons systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management/scheduling applications such as MS Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • DAWIA Practitioner (formerly Level II) Equivalency in Program Management certification preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with DoD acquisition programs preferred.
