About the position

Vana Solutions, LLC is seeking an Acquisition Project Lead to support the new Digital Capabilities Directorate (IZ/ID) within the AFRL/IZO Division. This is a hybrid position based in Beavercreek, Ohio, allowing for a part-time on-site and work-from-home schedule. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and supporting acquisition and contract strategies, providing comprehensive program management support in accordance with various Department of Defense directives and guidelines. The Project Lead will serve as an adviser to government personnel, ensuring that all acquisition programs are planned, executed, and controlled effectively throughout their life cycle. The Acquisition Project Lead will be responsible for assisting in the development of key documentation, including acquisition strategies, Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and other Request for Proposal (RFP) documents. The role involves conducting technical evaluations of program proposals, identifying and analyzing program risks, issues, and opportunities, and developing mitigation strategies. Additionally, the Project Lead will be tasked with creating and analyzing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and assessing program cost performance through Earned Value Management (EVM), implementing corrective actions as necessary. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to ensure the success of both the program and the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. Air Force acquisition processes and the ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of independent work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of acquisition strategies documentation.
  • Create Statements of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statements (PWS) and other Request for Proposal (RFP) documents.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of program proposals.
  • Identify, analyze, and develop mitigation strategies for program risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Develop and analyze program Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Analyze program cost performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET clearance.
  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Management or Engineering discipline.
  • Eight (8) years of Program Management experience, with four (4) years in DoD Acquisition Programs.
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated application of DoD and Air Force program management policies and procedures on an ACAT III level.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience and knowledge of Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request (MIPR) process.
  • Previous GS-1101 or GS-1102 experience preferred.
  • Experience with requirements development and verification methods, including review of ICD, sustainment, T&E, system architectures, and airworthiness certification across various hardware and software systems.
  • Experience in developing integrated master schedules (IMS) and analyzing critical path and schedule execution using Microsoft Project.
