About the position

The Acquisition Support Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. This position involves program management support for the Engine CIP program, focusing on defining, documenting, and tracking capabilities and requirements. The role requires coordination of the annual battle rhythm for CIP requirements, development of acquisition strategies, and preparation of necessary documentation for various decision processes. The manager will also monitor financial obligations and expenditures, ensuring that program activities are executed on cost and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program management support to define, document, and track capabilities and requirements for the Engine CIP program.
  • Coordinate and communicate the annual battle rhythm that guides a CIP requirement through the process of conception to approval.
  • Define the scope of engine issues and prioritize these issues for investigation and development of resolution options.
  • Support acquisition strategy development for new engine, modification, or retrofit requirements and applications.
  • Prepare plans and documentation required to participate in the Material Development Decision (MDD) and other decision processes.
  • Review and edit compliant acquisition documentation in various phases of engine life cycle management.
  • Recommend solutions/improvements for programmatic considerations and issues based on documentation review.
  • Develop and prepare briefings to provide program status for review and approval by the Government program manager.
  • Arrange and support various program actions, including Engine CIP IPT actions, and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Assist in development of funding requirements and programming of funds for program implementation.
  • Support planning and execution of all engine retrofit activities, including budgeting in the POM.
  • Monitor financial obligations and expenditures as well as cost/schedule/performance to confirm funded program activities are executed on cost and schedule.
  • Plan, organize, complete, and present assessments of cost, budget, and schedule implications.

Requirements

  • Experience in program management support within a government or military context.
  • Knowledge of acquisition strategy development and life cycle management processes.
  • Ability to prepare and review acquisition documentation in compliance with DoDI 5000.2.
  • Strong communication skills for coordination and briefing preparation.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting and cost estimation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) mission and operations.
  • Experience with Engine CIP programs or similar propulsion systems.
  • Understanding of the Five Year Defense Plan (FYDP) and Program Office Memorandum (POM) submissions.
