About the position

The Acquisition Systems Engineer will provide critical Acquisition and Program Management Support for rapid research and development efforts, focusing on the design and delivery of advanced components for future architectures. This role involves collaboration with government technical and contracts staff to develop acquisition strategies and documentation, ensuring effective program development and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with government technical and contracts staff developing acquisition strategies and acquisition documentation enabling program development and implementation.
  • Support new prototype acquisition planning, solicitation, evaluation, award, and execution for Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Task Orders (TOs) and Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs).
  • Draft common acquisition artifacts such as statements of work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), In Scope Determinations, and proposal evaluation criteria.
  • Assist Government customer in monitoring and managing program financial execution and planning.
  • Help coordinate with other Program Offices for the transition of prototype software to baseline programs for long term operations & maintenance (O&M) support.
  • Provide acquisition advisory services during technical and cost evaluations of proposals.
  • Work with technical staff documenting technical and programmatic requirements.
  • Effectively work with development teams to track technical progress, identify blockers to progress, and assess technical solutions.
  • Support SAFe Agile program development processes and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • 5+ years of government program management / contracting / acquisition experience.
  • Experience with non-traditional/non-FAR acquisition vehicles a plus (IDIQ, BAA, OT, CSO, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and communications skills.
