About the position

The Acquisitions Accountant at Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC is responsible for preparing and reviewing valuation analyses for potential acquisitions, creating acquisition summaries for leadership, and managing lease accounting. This role involves supervising the Leasing Coordinator, maintaining lease records, and preparing various reports for the parent company and external auditors. The position also includes managing intangible assets and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements for Helena's annual report.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review valuation analyses for potential acquisitions.
  • Create acquisition summaries for Helena's leadership team and board.
  • Prepare various reports for the parent company and external auditors.
  • Manage lease accounting and supervise the Leasing Coordinator.
  • Maintain leases in the lease accounting software Lucernex.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations and additional ad hoc reporting as requested.
  • Analyze business acquisitions and special capital projects, preparing executive summaries for submission to the executive committee and/or board.
  • Coordinate answers to parent company's questions on acquisitions and special capital projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • Seven years of related work experience and/or training is required.
  • CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
  • Ability to handle deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle is preferred.
  • Knowledge of IFRS 16 Leases is required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license is required for driving company vehicles.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Communicating in Spanish is a valuable skill.
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office are required.
