About the position

The Acquisitions and Divestitures Assistant Vice President (AVP) role is focused on providing technical evaluation and financial solutions for clients involved in acquisitions and divestitures. The AVP will analyze technical data, support transactions, and collaborate with team members to generate ideas for M&A opportunities. This position requires strong analytical skills and industry knowledge to drive successful outcomes for clients, while also demonstrating leadership and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical petroleum and reservoir engineering data to support financial models for marketing client assets and investment opportunities.
  • Provide engineering support for transactions, including drafting presentation materials and preparing data room documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to generate A&D and M&A ideas for clients.
  • Build and leverage a network of industry contacts to stay informed about technical aspects of the business and support related pitch work.
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, set objectives, and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives.
  • Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders for escalated issues resolution.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures for control and governance.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple internal and external sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information to stakeholders and influence them to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Petroleum engineering.
  • Related experience in Reservoir Engineering.
  • Prior experience in performing Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) and field development planning, including type curve generation and inventory analysis.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Operations and Geoscience disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior work experience in an A&D team at an E&P company or investment bank with experience preparing and reviewing VDRs related to buy-side and sell-side due diligence.
  • Experience conducting buy-side and sell-side due diligence.
