About the position

Axient is seeking a Senior Program Manager to provide Acquisition Program Management Support to Aerial Targets at Eglin AFB, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition programs, particularly in relation to sustainment contracts and obsolescence issues. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75. Additionally, the candidate should possess knowledge of the roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force (AF). In this position, the Senior Program Manager will be responsible for developing Business Case Analyses, conducting trade studies, and preparing acquisition milestone documents and briefings. The role also involves performing program assessments and providing guidance for Analyses of Alternatives (AoA) studies, as well as creating study plans and reports. The candidate will be expected to develop programmatic Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), market research reports, and support Early Strategy and Issues Sessions (ESIS) and Acquisition Strategy Panel (ASP) briefings. The Senior Program Manager will also support the development, maintenance, and updating of various acquisition reports, including the Monthly Acquisition Report (MAR), Selected Acquisition Report (SAR), Defense Acquisition Executive Summary (DAES), and Acquisition Program Baseline (APB). Identifying opportunities to improve program execution is crucial, as is reviewing deliverable status alongside milestone schedules, status reports, and cost performance reports to ensure the accuracy of the information presented. The candidate will plan, evaluate, and implement program acquisition strategies in accordance with DoD 5000.2 guidance and develop necessary program management documentation to support all phases of the acquisition life cycle. Furthermore, the role includes supporting the development of draft Requests for Proposals (RFP) that encompass systems specifications, System Requirements Documents (SRD), Statements of Objectives (SOO), Statements of Work (SOW), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL), and other RFP products.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Acquisition Program Management Support to Aerial Targets at Eglin AFB, FL.
  • Develop Business Case Analyses, trade studies, and acquisition milestone documents and briefings.
  • Conduct program assessments and provide guidance for Analyses of Alternatives (AoA) studies.
  • Create programmatic Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and market research reports.
  • Support Early Strategy and Issues Sessions (ESIS) and Acquisition Strategy Panel (ASP) briefings.
  • Maintain and update acquisition reports such as the Monthly Acquisition Report (MAR) and Selected Acquisition Report (SAR).
  • Identify opportunities to improve program execution and review deliverable status.
  • Plan, evaluate, and implement program acquisition strategies to meet DoD 5000.2 guidance.
  • Develop program management documentation to support all phases of the acquisition life cycle.
  • Support the development of draft RFP including systems specs, System Requirements Documents (SRD), SOO, SOW, and CDRL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and twenty-five (25) years of professional experience OR a Master's degree and fifteen (15) years of professional experience.
  • Strong background in DoD acquisition programs, particularly with sustainment contracts and obsolescence issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management as defined in DoDI 5000.02 and 5000.75.
  • Previous experience working an ACAT program within AFLCMC is highly desired.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must have minimum active Secret clearance for the position.
