About the position

The Activities Aide at Royal Gardens Healthcare plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational and social programs. This position focuses on providing person-centered care and ensuring that residents engage in meaningful activities that cater to their emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational programs according to residents' assessments and care plans.
• Respects and upholds all residents' personal and property rights while carrying out duties.
• Conducts assigned group or one-to-one activity programs as per the activity calendar.
• Moves and arranges equipment and supplies to prepare activity areas for scheduled programs.
• Assists residents in moving to and from activity programs as needed.
• Maintains a tidy and pleasant atmosphere in the activity room by returning materials to their proper place in a timely manner.
• Assists the Activity Director in developing the activity schedule and distributing monthly calendars to residents.
• Follows resident care plans to provide daily activities for residents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years' experience in a related position in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Aptitude for and/or some training in arts and crafts required.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered care with dignity and respect.
