About the position

The Community Life Aide at Fraser Villa plays a vital role in enhancing the living experience of residents by assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various recreational and social programs. This part-time position involves working closely with the Community Life Director and the Community Life Team to create meaningful activities that cater to the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs.
  • Identify, develop, and execute solutions to enhance the resident living experience.
  • Interview residents or family members to obtain life history information for planning objectives and goals.
  • Serve as an on-site community representative to involve residents and families in planning goals.
  • Promote socialization, expand personal interests, and increase physical activity among residents.
  • Observe and report on resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Chauffeur license desirable and may be required to obtain a class C driver's or Chauffeur's license.
  • Previous experience working in long-term care or with the geriatric population preferred.
