About the position
The Activities Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in a healthcare setting by organizing and assisting with various activities. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with the elderly, ensuring that residents are engaged and supported in their daily activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with grooming needs prior to attending activities.
- Assess resident capabilities concerning activities and group programs.
- Assist in recruiting and maintaining volunteers to assist in activity programs.
- Assist the Resident and Family Councils, and bring their concerns to the attention of the Administrator and other appropriate staff.
- Assist with all charitable fundraising activities as needed.
- Responsible for seeing that the resident mail and newspapers are sorted and delivered to the residents each day.
- Perform daily activities, special events, and in-room visits.
- Assist with resident outings.
Requirements
- Certified Nurse Aide preferred.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to think creatively.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Customer service skills.
