About the position
The Activities Assistant at Lakeside Health & Rehab Center plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various recreational, social, educational, and spiritual programs. This part-time position focuses on creating a supportive and engaging environment for seniors, ensuring their needs are met according to their care plans and assessments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing recreational and social programs for residents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of activities and make necessary adjustments.
- Follow health, sanitary, and infection control policies.
- Maintain established standards of practice as per community guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and supervisors.
- Observe and implement proper safety and sanitary techniques.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Life Enrichment skills such as creative expression, music, and group leadership.
- Ability to communicate in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with seniors in a recreational or social setting preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Activity Professional Certification or higher preferred but not required.
