About the position

The Activities/Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for planning, scheduling, and facilitating leisure activities for residents in the Independent Living facility at Hover Senior Living. This role emphasizes creating a warm and engaging environment for seniors, ensuring their well-being through various activities that promote wellness and social interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate a variety of meaningful activities for residents using the six elements of wellness.
  • Model the Culture Change Principles of the Eden Alternative.
  • Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of community policies and procedures.
  • Report changes in resident status, health, or otherwise to the supervisor.
  • Establish a monthly calendar highlighting special events and seasonal programs.
  • Develop an annual budget for program supplies and activities in conjunction with the Independent Living Director.
  • Schedule outings and ensure all safety measures are in place.
  • Drive company vehicles during resident activities.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Chef and Marketing Coordinator for special events and marketing programs.
  • Recruit and train volunteers.
  • Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings and address resident concerns.
  • Ensure the community is decorated for seasonal changes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a senior care or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Ability to relate effectively with a variety of individuals.
  • Desire to work with seniors in a residential setting.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
