About the position
The Activity Aide position at Yeadon Rehabilitation and Nursing is a full-time role that offers a flexible schedule between 8:30 AM to 5 PM and 11 AM to 7 PM, including alternating weekends and holidays. This position is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents by planning, preparing, and executing various activities tailored to their needs. The Activity Aide will work closely with residents, participating in and leading both group and one-on-one activities, ensuring that each resident feels engaged and valued. The role also involves assisting in the setup and cleanup of activity spaces, maintaining a safe and homelike environment for all residents, and performing other job-related duties as required. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with the elderly or differently abled individuals and are looking to make a positive impact in their lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, preparing, and executing activities for residents.
- Participate in and lead group activities and one-on-one activities.
- Assist in the setup and cleanup of activity spaces.
- Ensure a safe and homelike environment for residents.
- Perform other job-related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to follow step-by-step procedures and programs.
- Professional communication skills with residents, family members, staff, and visitors.
- Previous long-term care experience working with the elderly or differently abled preferred.
