About the position

The Activity Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Resident Programs team at Commonwealth Senior Living by leading and executing engaging activities for residents. This position focuses on creating purposeful daily social and physical events that meet state requirements, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing a variety of exercises, social, recreational, and educational events.
• Conduct all transportation, including medical transportation for residents.
• Maintain knowledge of community services and events, incorporating them into the activity schedule as appropriate.
• Establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Promote teamwork and a positive attitude among staff, monitoring and attending activities with other disciplines as necessary.
• Evaluate the quality and consistency of activities for residents, making adjustments as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school degree; additional college experience preferred but not required.
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years' experience in activities strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
• Clear and insurable driving record, current driver's license, and willingness to drive a passenger van.
