About the position

The Activity Coordinator for Memory Care at Ivy Park in Huntington Beach is responsible for organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing activities and excursions for residents in the Traditions Memory Care area. This role aims to enhance residents' independence and quality of life while fostering a rewarding social atmosphere. The coordinator will work closely with the Memory Care Director and engage residents through various activities, ensuring a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area.
• Promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes, and other such activities.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Drive community vehicles as needed.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
