About the position

The Activity Coordinator at El Dorado Estates is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing engaging activities and events for seniors. This role requires a passion for working with the senior population, strong persuasive skills to encourage participation, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents. The ideal candidate will have a background in event planning or coordinating and will bring energy, creativity, and enthusiasm to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and engage residents in various activities and events.
  • Create, develop, and implement a full event, activity, and fitness program.
  • Encourage participation in all events to ensure a successful activities program.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with residents.
  • Coordinate and plan events that appeal to a diverse group of seniors.

Requirements

  • One year of event planning or coordinating experience is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with residents.
  • Flexible daytime hours and some weekends may be required.
  • Must have energy, creativity, and imagination.
  • Basic computer skills are needed.
  • Prior senior living experience is strongly preferred.
  • Desire to provide quality of life to seniors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in decorating or wedding planning is a plus.
  • Teaching experience may be beneficial.
