About the position
The Activity Coordinator for Memory Care at Ivy Park at Pleasanton is responsible for enhancing the independence and quality of life of residents through the organization and facilitation of engaging activities and excursions. This role involves promoting resident participation in a variety of social and recreational events, ensuring a safe and secure environment, and fostering teamwork among staff. The position is full-time, working Sunday through Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area.
- Promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, and the establishment of clubs.
- Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
- Drive community vehicles as needed.
- Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
- Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents.
- Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
