About the position

The Activity Director at South Bay Post Acute Care is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the activities programs within the facility. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for residents through engaging activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activities programs of the facility.
  • Develop and implement a monthly activities calendar.
  • Complete patient assessments upon admission, quarterly, and annually.
  • Assist in the development of resident-centered care plans.
  • Lead Resident Counsel Meetings and document patient needs and grievances.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of written activities policies and procedures.
  • Provide written and oral reports to the Director of Nursing Services and Administrator regarding the activities department.
  • Prepare for and participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies.
  • Support the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing corrective action plans.
  • Serve on facility committees such as Resident Counsel, Dining, Budget, and Care Planning.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees related to the activities department.
  • Assist the Administrator in recruiting and selecting activities staff.
  • Ensure new activities staff are properly oriented and trained.
  • Develop activities staff work assignments and schedules.
  • Resolve complaints and grievances made by activities department personnel.
  • Ensure adequate activities supplies and equipment are maintained.
  • Assist in preparing and planning the activity department's budget.

Requirements

  • Activity Director Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and physical
  • 1 year of computer skills experience
