About the position

The Actuarial Analyst 2 at Humana plays a crucial role in analyzing Medicaid inpatient data to support decision-making and improve consumer experiences. This position involves utilizing SAS and Excel to generate reports, analyze trends, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. The analyst is responsible for ensuring data integrity and conducting ad-hoc analyses to support Medicaid RFPs and identify trend-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Refresh Medicaid inpatient data and tool monthly to provide best estimate utilization/PMPMs for the month close process
  • Refresh Medicaid Front End Review tool monthly and communicate results
  • Prepare analysis and provide inpatient insights for monthly market meetings
  • Provide inpatient insights to support statements needed for RFPs
  • Prepare and communicate inpatient analyses to support trend saving opportunities for Medicaid markets
  • Ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues and troubleshoot problems
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop cost-effective resolutions for data anomalies
  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, with minimal direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams
  • Meets requirements for Humana's Actuarial Professional Development Program (APDP)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
