About the position

The Actuarial Analyst 2, Risk and Compliance plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing actuarial activities related to risk identification and management. This position involves analyzing potential risks, estimating financial consequences, and developing cost-effective strategies to minimize those risks. The analyst will assess and communicate actuarial and business risks across the organization, provide peer reviews, and ensure compliance with Medicare Advantage and regulatory practices. The role is integral to supporting Humana's bid submissions for Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans, ensuring compliance and enhancing financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Support the management and oversight of actuaries and support staff in risk management activities.
• Identify and analyze potential risks and estimate their financial consequences.
• Develop and recommend controls and cost-effective approaches to minimize risks.
• Assess and communicate information regarding actuarial/business risks across the organization.
• Provide peer review and counsel on company, industry, and regulatory practices.
• Monitor and research laws and regulations applicable to Medicare Advantage and actuarial science.
• Participate in CMS audits and reviews related to Humana's Medicare bids.
• Create and maintain process improvements for bid filings to enhance compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams
• Strong communication skills
• Proficient in Excel
