About the position

The Actuarial Analyst position within the Actuarial Leadership Development Program at Mass offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain extensive experience and training in the actuarial field. This full-time role is designed to prepare participants for leadership positions while supporting their journey to pass actuarial exams through a rotational program that provides exposure to various business lines and actuarial functions. Participants will engage in meaningful projects, receive mentorship, and have opportunities for networking and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in meaningful work that supports the success of the company through various business lines and actuarial functions.
  • Participate in high-profile projects to apply knowledge and skills in a respected company.
  • Attend networking lunches with senior actuaries, including the Chief Actuary and Chief Investment Officer.
  • Participate in an Executive Speaker Series to learn from company leaders about industry issues and initiatives.
  • Attend external actuarial seminars and meetings to enhance understanding of industry issues and network with professionals.
  • Participate in corporate learning and development programs to develop leadership competencies.
  • Engage in community volunteer opportunities alongside other employees.
  • Attend social and networking events with other students and company actuaries.

Requirements

  • BA or BS with a quantitative focus (e.g., Mathematics, Actuarial, Finance, Economics or related major)
  • Completion of 1 or more actuarial exams
  • Commitment to pursue Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries
  • Demonstrated leadership skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience as a Mass Actuarial Intern
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
