About the position

The Actuarial Analyst - Data Support role at MassMutual Ascend involves supporting the planning and coordination of data needs across various financial departments. The position focuses on capturing and maintaining data knowledge, establishing data quality metrics, and documenting reporting needs. The analyst will also support industry experience studies and develop automated data streams, ensuring data quality and effective communication of findings to the Financial Community and IT.

Responsibilities

• Capture, document and maintain data knowledge.
• Establish experience data & data quality dashboards and metrics.
• Document and support the data needs and reporting across the Financial Community.
• Identify, evaluate, develop and/or share best practices for extracting data.
• Support the planning and coordination of data needs for industry experience studies.
• Support established relationships with industry experience study providers.
• Design automated data streams for repeated industry experience studies.
• Develop knowledge of data sources content and structure to assess data quality.
• Identify and recommend resolutions for data and reporting quality issues.
• Communicate findings broadly to the Financial Community and IT.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Passed 1 or more of the exams toward Associateship or the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with data quality metrics and dashboards.
