About the position

DMBA is seeking a Health Actuarial Analyst to join our actuarial services team, focusing on financial reporting and pricing. This role is essential for supporting the long-term effectiveness and financial vitality of our company's programs, particularly in administering various financial and welfare benefit plans for affiliated entities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player who can provide timely, clear, and insightful information to enhance our operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a field with a strong math/statistics emphasis
• 0-4 years actuarial experience
• Successful completion of 2 or more actuarial exams
• Ability to clearly communicate technical results to a non-technical audience, both verbally and in writing
• Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience using a statistical programming language (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in health, dental, or other welfare actuarial work (pricing, reserving, provider contracting, experience monitoring, etc.)
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Knowledge of employee benefits
