At USAA, we have an important mission: facilitating the financial security of millions of U.S. military members and their families. As a dedicated Actuarial Analyst I on the Property Pricing Modernization team, you will coordinate, prepare, and perform actuarial analyses required to develop new products, project future results, reprice existing products, and determine financial strength. This role involves performing moderately complex to complex work assignments and problem resolution under minimal supervision. You will have the opportunity to work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel, although preference is given to individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of specific USAA office locations who are able and willing to work four days from the office. In this position, you will apply your proficient knowledge of the business, its products, and processes. You will utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and risk management, entering data and tables, running models, and generating reports. You may also make adjustments and improvements to models as appropriate. Maintaining proper price levels, price structures, data availability, and other requirements to achieve profitability and competitive goals will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will identify critical experience areas to monitor and suggest timely remedies to correct or prevent unfavorable trends, as well as identify sources of gain and loss by product and assumption. Testing pricing assumptions and the appropriate premiums, interest margins, reserves, and cash values for new products will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will serve as a resource to less experienced team members on escalated issues of a routine nature and ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
